Linde of Germany said its engineering division and project partner SBM Offshore of the Netherlands signed a partnership agreement with Thailand’s PTT FLNG Ltd. for the development of a Floating LNG facility in the Timor Sea off Northern Australia.

Chevron Corp., the lead developer of the Gorgon LNG and Wheatstone LNG projects offshore Western Australia, said it successfully bid for new exploration rights in an area comprising two blocks in the Carnarvon Basin.

Tokyo Gas and Japanese shipping company, Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha, named a new LNG carrier, the “Energy Horizon”, and the vessel is the world’s largest Moss-type LNG carrier.

PTT, Thailand’s state energy company, said it was planning to boost LNG imports into the nation’s new LNG import terminal immediately to make up for domestic gas shortfalls caused by a leak in a natural gas transmission pipeline in the Gulf of Thailand.
