Costain, the UK engineering and construction company, said it was awarded a contract to provide expertise on a front-end engineering and design study for a floating LNG production project in Papua New Guinea.

Chart Industries, the small-scale LNG plant equipment maker, said it entered into a final agreement to acquire Gocher Fahrzeugbau of Germany, a manufacturer of trucks and containers for products such as LNG, in a cash deal that will widen its LNG offerings.

Marathon Oil said the LNG plant it operates in Equatorial Guinea saw profits rise in the second quarter of 2011 as higher volumes were sold despite a temporary shut-down.

Exmar, the Belgian LNG fleet owner, recorded an operational result of $14.6 million during the first six months of the year compared with $23.6M in the same period last year as a key LNG vessel underwent maintenance.
