The first cargo delivery for the US Northeast Gateway regasification and storage vessel facility set up by Excelerate Energy offshore Massachusetts has been postponed for a month and the cargo will be split in a ship-to-ship transfer.

Cheniere Energy is in advanced talks with a major North American natural gas marketing company to manage throughput of LNG and the downstream marketing of LNG cargoes delivered to the new Sabine Pass terminal in Louisiana.

Two new US LNG import terminals, Freeport LNG in Texas and Sabine Pass LNG in Louisiana, have now received their commissioning cargoes at a time when US natural gas prices have soared to their highest levels of 2008.

Enagas, the Spanish LNG terminal owner, said it signed a 500 million euros ($790M) loan agreement with Spain’s Institute of Official Credit (ICO) to partially finance upgrades at its LNG regasification plants and for other infrastructure.

New York’s State Governor David A. Paterson said he was opposed to the Broadwater LNG project proposed by Royal Dutch Shell and TransCanada Corp. for Long Island Sound, already accorded environmental approval by the Federal government.

Qatargas and Royal Dutch Shell have signed two purchase agreement that will lead to the long-term supply of LNG from Qatar to import terminals in China owned by PetroChina and China National Offshore Oil Corp.

China’s second LNG import terminal being completed in Fujian province will receive its commissioning cargo before the end of this month from the Egypt LNG plant.

The American Bureau of Shipping said the new China-built LNG carrier “Dapeng Sun” was completed to ABS class standards at the Shanghai-based Hudong-Zhonghua Shipyard .
