Japan to upgrade state firm to back takeovers of overseas resource and LNG project companies

The Japanese government approved a bill to overhaul Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corp. (Jogmec) to enhance the functions of the state-owned body to support Japanese upstream developers in acquiring overseas resource companies for LNG projects and other ventures.
