Spot liquefied natural gas cargoes delivered to Japan last month cost $2.20 per million British thermal units more than in the previous month even as market prices were much lower and available volumes were high.

The Japanese government approved a bill to overhaul Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corp. (Jogmec) to enhance the functions of the state-owned body to support Japanese upstream developers in acquiring overseas resource companies for LNG projects and other ventures.
