KHI in talks to acquire Mitsui Engineering to create world-class LNG-fuelled shipbuilder

Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI), the builder of 27 LNG carriers and Japan's main shipbuilder in the sector, is in talks to acquire Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding (MES), whose latest developments include a dual-fuel LNG-powered propulsion system. The deal would create a world-class gas-fuelled shippingbuilding business.
