Japan to import 88MT of LNG in 2012 but cost of purchases is over forecast $60Bln

Japanese LNG imports have risen 14 percent so far this year and are on track to total around 88 million tonnes in 2012, as slumping demand in Europe has caused "vast inflows" of LNG into Asia, according to the Institute of Energy Economics in Japan.
