Kansai Electric Power is the first Japanese LNG buyer to secure long-term cargo supplies from a major at natural gas-indexed prices rather than oil by signing a 15-year deal with the Singapore trading office of BP of the UK to receive 500,000 tonnes per annum from fiscal 2017.
