Japanese bank confirms NYK LNG carrier finance

Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) confirmed it signed an agreement to provide financing to Japanese LNG carrier fleet owner Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK Line) for a newbuild vessel to deliver cargoes to Japan from the Papua New Guinea LNG project.

The loan is for 12.6 billion yen ($162M) to Bahamas LNG Shipping Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of NYK Line, said JBIC, formerly known as Japan ExIm Bank.
