Malaysia's first two LNG import facilities at Malacca and Johor will have provisions for third-party access for the nation's utilities to start LNG imports of their own at some time in the future.

The statement on how the facilities will be operated came from senior executive of national energy company Petronas, which operates three liquefaction plants that have made Malaysia a key LNG exporter since 1983.
