European LNG unaffected by Nord Stream pipeline

The first line of the Nord Stream natural gas pipeline between Russia and Western Europe was officially inaugurated at Lubmin in Germany by Chancellor Angela Merkel and Russian President Dmitri Medvedev, but will have no impact on LNG prices.

The new flow of natural gas from Russia's Gazprom to European customers has already been factored into the market long ago for the short-term and medium-term strategies of LNG players, analysts said.
