ExxonMobil begins laying of pipelines for PNG LNG

The ExxonMobil-led Papua New Guinea LNG project has begun laying a pipeline to bring feed-gas from the onshore PNG highlands region across the Bay of Papua to an onshore liquefaction plant.

ExxonMobil said the first offshore sections of the 36-inch diameter pipeline were being laid by two specialized vessels, the "Semac 1" and the "Castoro 10".
