Kitimat project gets Canadian LNG export licence

The Canadian National Energy Board approved an application by the Kitimat LNG project, located north of Vancouver, to export 10 million tonnes per annum of LNG for 20 years to markets in the Asia-Pacific region.

The licence authorizes the LNG operating company of Apache Corp. and EOG Resources of the US, along with Encana of Canada, to export 200 million tonnes of LNG over the term.
