Thursday, 13 October 2011

ConocoPhillips has purchased Marathon Oil's 30 percent stake in the Kenai LNG liquefaction plant, the only US LNG export facility and operated by the two companies since 1969.

The transaction was completed as the Kenai facility, which has a nameplate capacity of around 700,000 tonnes per annum of LNG and exports to Japan, was winding down its operations for a planned closure.
