The Papua New Guinea Energy Minister has criticized the Gulf LNG project led by Canadian company InterOil, and involving a Floating LNG element being built by Flex of Norway, alleging the parameters of the venture were being changed without proper consultation.

The minister, William Duma, has said that InterOil and its project company, Liquid Niugini Gas Ltd. (LNGL), were “not proceeding with the project which was agreed to between the State and  LNGL in the Project Agreement on 23 December 2009.”
