Cheniere Energy is selling shares to investors to raise more capital for its Sabine Pass liquefaction project in Louisiana to export surplus US gas resulting from the shale-gas boom.

The company said it was selling around 3.6 million shares at a price of $15.25. US investment bank Citigroup was acting as underwriter of the public offering and 450,000 additional shares would be made available if there was demand for them.
