Southeast Asia’s hyperscale data centre boom is set to lift regional LNG demand by about 16% a year through 2035, with combined-cycle gas turbines (CCGT) currently seen as the most viable technology capable of meeting data centres’ 24/7 reliability requirements at scale as grid-scale battery storage is expected to remain uneconomic across the region until 2035.
