QatarEnergy is reportedly set to award contracts for six new supersized LNG carriers to a joint venture between Japan’s Mitsui OSK Lines and China’s Cosco Shipping Energy Transportation (CSET).

The partners have emerged as favourites to supply the 271,000-cbm LNG carriers that QatarEnergy contracted with Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding in September.
