Global LNG markets will stay tight until 2026/27, when new US liquefaction capacity comes onstream and Qatar begins production at North Field West with a view to expanding the world’s biggest LNG project. Until then, analysts at Moody’s expect LNG prices and availability to depend largely on the speed and scale of China’s gas demand recovery.
