British supermajor Shell has agreed to lease LNG regas and import terminals from state-owned PipeChina on a medium- and long-term basis. PipeChina operates seven LNG terminals with a combined capacity of nearly 28 million tons per annum (mtpa), with the deal potentially enabling Shell to re-route cargoes from the Atlantic Basin to China given that European storages are well-filled.
