Inter-regional natural gas and LNG trade is set to grow by 45 percent over the next 10 years and by 70 percent through 2040 as overcapacity is gradually absorbed, new players enter the stage, incumbents are challenged and the market rebalances.

Natural gas accounts for half of Argentina’s energy demand, though despite its resource wealth it became a net gas importer in 2008, by pipeline from Bolivia and via liquefied natural gas shipments.

The planned operation of natural gas liquefaction units offshore has raised many new safety issues. Cryogenic spillage is among the most critical as load bearing structures cannot be designed to resist such accidents.

Kosan Crisplant, an independent company with Middle East ties operating out of Denmark, has been working in the gas business for 65 years, mainly within liquefied petroleum gas and it is now broadening its horizons and entering the liquefied natural gas sector where its experience will be valuable.

We are expanding the technology and methods from construction of the then new Train 5 at the North West Shelf plant in Western Australia, the first base-load Train constructed using a modularised approach.
