PETRONAS LNG has signed a 20-year timecharter agreement with affiliate MISC Group (MISC) for five newbuilding 174,000 cu m LNGCs.
This reinforces its long-term LNG supply reliability, while supporting customers’ energy transition towards a lower-carbon future, the Malaysian energy major said.
This followed the conclusion of shipbuilding contracts between MISC and China’s Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) in January and February, 2026.
The vessels will be constructed in Shanghai with charter commencements expected between 2029 and 2030.
