Five First Nations can invest up to C$1 billion to own an LNG storage tank – as part of the LNG Canada’s Phase 2 expansion – and lease it back to the terminal developer for the operational life of the project. The tank would have a capacity of 225,000 cubic metres and would be built in Kitimat, BC, with an investment decision on Phase 2 targeted by the end of 2026.
Shell has reached financial close on a small-scale LNG regasification terminal in the Bahamas. The project will be built in phases, with the regasified LNG – mostly sourced from Shell’s US LNG offtake – set to support baseload generation at Clifton Pier in excess of 170 MW.
Beihai LNG in Guangxi has discharged 26 cargoes this year to 13 July, and every one of them came from Russia. That intake marks the terminal’s second-busiest first half in eight years, behind only 2024, and ten cargoes more than it took over the same window last year. The berth is working at its usual rate. Golar LNG has awarded Axess Group new contracts to support two floating LNG units slated for deployment at Argentina's LNG export project on the Atlantic coast For the MK II FLNG, Axess will develop the unit's maintenance management system and provide integrity revalidation for the Hilli FLNG ahead of its redeployment. The contracts helps advance Golar's Argentina LNG project, with the MK II FLNG vessel scheduled for delivery in late 2027.
Italy-based Adriatic LNG has launched the accreditation phase for its Open Season 2026, offering medium- to long-term regasification capacity from January 2029 through December 2051. Accreditation is open through September 14 and the bidding phase will run from September 17-30.

Gulf South Pipeline’s Texas Gateway Project has entered the federal FAST-41 permitting program, accelerating federal review of the proposed 155-mile pipeline that would add 1.45 Bcf/d of natural gas transportation capacity between East Texas and the Louisiana Gulf Coast. If completed, the added takeaway capacity would also help supply expanding U.S. LNG export facilities and bolster feedgas availability for new projects.
