Prime Infrastructure Capital has completed its $850 million (PHP 50 billion) acquisition of a 60% stake in First Gen’s gas subsidiaries, giving it control of the Batangas LNG import terminal and more than 3,200 MW of gas-fired capacity.

Many US gas producers are hedging their output, as a cold winter combined with soaring LNG feedgas demand could drive the Jan-26 contract above $5.00/MMBtu. The Henry Hub Cal-26 strip could - under these conditions - jump above $4.25/MMBtu, Energy Aspects forecasts.

Feedgas demand at US LNG export plants is expected to rise to 40 Bcfd in the coming years, up from 18 bcfd currently, Cheniere’s chief commercial officer Anatol Feygin said.

ExxonMobil indicated the timeline of getting Golden Pass LNG project into full operation could slip into 2026, though commissioning works are already underway.

Chevron more bearish on oil prices than LNG

Chevron expects oil prices to face more downward pressure than LNG in 2026. Though markets are adjusting to a wave of new liquefaction capacity, Chevron CEO Mike Wirth is convinced that “LNG has stronger fundamentals [than oil].”

Southeast Asia’s LNG imports are set to soar from 35 bcm today to 135 bcm by 2035, primarily driven by Pakistan and Bangladesh, the International Energy Agency (IEA) forecasts. With a wave of new LNG export capacity coming to market, global gas prices are bound to ease substantially, empowering countries like Bangladesh to secure long-term LNG contracts at more competitive rates.

Seatrium posts S$16.6bn order book in Q3-2025

Seatrium has reported a net order book of S$16.6 billion for the third quarter 2025, with 24 projects scheduled for delivery through 2031. The upgrade of FLNG Hilli Episeyo was completed during the quarter.

As global oil demand levels off, a “wave of new LNG exports” is putting downward pressure on prices and extends natural gas demand growth into the 2030s, the International Energy Agency's (IEA) 2025 World Energy Outlook finds.

Saudi Aramco is preparing to tap the giant Jafurah shale gas basin in a bid to reduce oil dependence, positioning the Kingdom as a potential LNG exporter. Aramco CEO Amin Nasser singled out the field’s “huge” growth potential, though analysts doubt the Saudi gas market can absorb all the extra supply.

US developer Glenfarne has selected Baker Hughes to supply refrigerant compressors for the Alaska LNG terminal and power generation equipment for the North Slope gas treatment plant. Baker Hughes also pledged a “strategic investment” in the project.
