Proponent of LNG exports from Alaska expect to finish the key engineering and cost assessment for an 800-mile gas pipeline stretching from the North Slope to the Gulf of Alaska by the end of this year, according to US Interior Dough Burgum. The pipeline is critical for securing feedgas for Alaska’s $44 billion LNG export terminal.

Cheniere Energy is working towards having Corpus Christi liquefaction Trains 1 and 2 substantially completed in the first half of 2019, and Train-2 in the second half of next year. Engineering is still ongoing at Train-3 which is 67.8% complete, according to a FERC filing.

July 26 (LNGJ) - Fluor Corp., the US energy engineering company whose recent LNG project awards include the LNG Canada project in British Columbia, has held a ceremony in Shanghai to celebrate 40 years of its involvement in China. “Our projects, clients and partners in China have been a significant part of Fluor’s growth over the past 40 years,” said Ken Choudhary, president of Fluor’s Energy and Chemicals business in the Asia-Pacific. “Our legacy in China includes some of the country’s marquee capital projects, which have helped improve the lives of millions of people,” stated Choudhary. Fluor is part owner and operator of the Zhuhai Fabrication Yard in the southern Guangdong province with China National Offshore Oil Corp. and where work is carried out on oil, gas and terminal projects.

French liquefied natural gas and energy engineering company Technip, which is currently in the middle of a takeover of FMC Technologies of the US, has signed an LNG accord with the oil and gas division of US conglomerate General Electric to cooperate on exploring digital solutions for LNG projects.

Global industry leaders at the LNG 18 conference taking place in the Australian city of Perth were warned by a US company on the fourth day of proceedings that project management for new LNG ventures was not in a fit state for the work ahead amid a decline in engineering quality.

Fluor Corp., the Texas-based energy and LNG engineering and construction company, has completed its acquisition of Stork Holding BV of the Netherlands for more than $700 million as industry consolidation continues to lower costs in a weaker commodity market.

KBR Inc., the Houston-based US energy and LNG engineering company, has posted strong fourth-quarter earnings after previously overhauling the business after a previous loss of over $1 billion.

Aug 27 (LNGJ) - Sabine Pass LNG has filed a report with FERC saying the first engineering stage of the liquefaction trains 1 and 2 at its export terminal in Cameron Parish, Louisiana, is 99.4% complete.
Procurement is 99.5% complete, and subcontract and direct hire construction work are 46.6% and 35.6% complete, respectively.

Technip, the French engineering and construction firm, said more than 36,000 workers were currently mobilized for its liquefied natural gas projects in Qatar and Yemen and the number was growing.

Linklaters, the international law firm, said it advised Spain’s Repsol and Canadian company Irving Oil in the just completed US$1.1 billion financing round for the planned Canaport LNG project on the East Coast of Canada.
