May 8 (LNGJ) – Two LNG cargoes are headed for the UK in the days ahead, one from the US and one from Angola. The “Cobia LNG” with 174,000 cubic metres of capacity is scheduled to berth on May 10 at the UK South Hook terminal in Milford Haven in Wales with a cargo from Freeport LNG in Texas lifted on April 24, according to shipping data.
The “Sonangol Etosha” with 160,500 metres of capacity is due to berth on May 12 at the Isle of Grain LNG terminal on the Medway River in Kent, southern England, with a shipment loaded on April 27 from the Soyo export plant in Angola.
European Union liquefied natural gas prices dropped again as EU storage builds hit their highest level of the season so far as milder weather swept across the continent and gas demand declined along with pipeline gas flows from Norway, while LNG cargo deliveries toNorth Asia were steady.
The UK said that flaring during offshore production of oil and gas in the North Sea has been cut in half following four consecutive years of reductions aimed at cleaner production methods even as the nation has become a higher net importer of natural gas as LNG and pipeline deliveries from Norway.
Oct 17 (LNGJ) - The 177,000 cubic metres capacity carrier “LNG Bonny II” berthed on October 17 at the UK Isle of Grain import terminal, located southeast of London. Shipping data listed the ship’s previous port as Point Fortin in Trinidad and its next destination as offshore Croatia.
Another LNG shipment is heading for Belgium. The 135,855 cubic metres vessel “Al Jasra” is scheduled to arrive on October 19 at the Zeebrugge terminal with a cargo lifted on October 1 from the Ras Laffan plant in Qatar.
Oct 3 (LNGJ) - The 167,400 cubic metres capacity vessel “Methane Mickie Harper” is scheduled to deliver an LNG cargo from Peru on October 7 to the UK Dragon LNG import terminal at the Port of Milford Haven, according to shipping data.
The shipment was lifted on August 13 from the Pampa Melchorita LNG export plant on the Pacific Coast of Peru and the data also showed that the ship stopped over at the Elba Island LNG plant in Georgia before heading across the Atlantic.
Equinor, the Norwegian major and the UK’s Centrica, owner of the British Gas utility, have signed a deal for the delivery of more Norwegian pipeline natural gas over the next three winters and the accord will slightly lessen the need for more LNG deliveries to UK terminals.
May 26 (LNGJ) - The UK will receive its first June cargo next week from Qatar. The 258,050 cubic metres capacity Q-Max vessel “Al Samriya” is scheduled to discharge a shipment on June 2 at the South Hook terminal in Milford Haven, according to shipping data. The cargo was lifted on May 16 from Qatar’s export terminal at Ras Laffan in the Arabian Gulf.
National Grid Plc, the UK electricity and natural gas grid operator and with a business on the US East Coast, has defended its decision to limit the amount of liquefied natural gas being shipped into the country from nations such as the US and Qatar to avoid overwhelming the gas grid system.
March 16 (LNGJ) - Two more US LNG cargoes are heading for the port of Milford Haven from Cheniere Energy’s Sabine Pass liquefaction plant in Louisiana and the Calcasieu Pass facility in Cameron Parish. The 174,100 cubic metres capacity vessel “Vivirt City LNG” is scheduled to discharge a shipment on March 22 at the South Hook facility. A second LNG carrier, the “Qoqir”, is scheduled to berth at South Hook on March 23 with the second US Gulf Coast shipment, according to port authorities.
Dec 30 (LNGJ) - The UK is receiving at least three LNG cargoes from the Americas at the Port of Milford Haven during the first week in January, one each from the US states of Texas and Louisiana and one from Peru, according to port authorities. The 174,000 cubic metres capacity carrier “Aristidis I” is scheduled to discharge a shipment on January 4 at the South Hook facility from Freeport LNG in Texas.
A second US cargo is being delivered to South Hook on January 6 on board the 164,000 cubic metres capacity “Maran Gas Posidonia” from the Cameron plant near Lake Charles in Louisiana. The third expected arrival next week is the January 6 berthing of the 173,400 cubic metres capacity vessel “Magdala” at Milford Haven’s Dragon terminal carrying a shipment from the Pampa Melchorita plant on the Pacific Coast of Peru.
