OLT Offshore LNG, controlled by the Italian gas TSO Snam and Igneo Infrastructure Partners, has completed the commissioning of the new small-scale LNG service, offered through the FSRU Toscana terminal. Testing involved the bi-directional transfer of LNG between a small carrier – the ‘Avenir Aspiration’ operated by Axpo.

June 5 (LNGJ) - Edison SpA of Italy, the energy company involved in the Italian natural gas and electricity supply markets, confirmed talks to sell its natural gas storage facilities to gas grid and LNG terminals operator SNAM.

   Edison said it was negotiating for SNAM to purchase the Edison storage subsidiary Edison Stoccaggio. Successful completion of the talks would give SNAM control of gas storage facilities located in Cellino (Teramo), Collalto (Treviso) and San Potito e Cotignola (Ravenna), with a total storage capacity of about 1 billion cubic metres per annum. Edison itself is part of France’s EDF group.

Nov 27 (LNGJ) - SNAM, the Italian natural gas grid operator and floating and onshore import terminal owner, has launched a consultation regarding the first assignment procedures for the regasification capacity at the proposed floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) to be deployed at the port of Ravenna. The FSRU “BW Singapore” will be on station at the Adriatic port of Ravenna and be operational by the end of 2024.

   “The first assignment procedures for the regasification capacity at the FSRU Ravenna Terminal have been published,’ said SNAM. “Interested parties can submit their observations on the procedure for the first assignment by 17 December 2023. As part of the consultation, interested parties may also submit expressions of interest for capacity products with a duration shorter than the assignment period by 30 November 2023,” added SNAM.
