China’s Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding Group is expanding its production facilities at Changxing Island in Shanghai to address its growing backlog of LNG carriers and other large vessels. The shipyard’s LNGC orderbook increased to nearly 60 ships by mid-2026, up from 57 at the start of the year.

Nakilat, one of the world’s largest LNG shipping operators, has partnered with the American Bureau of Shipping, the US classification society, to develop a decarbonization strategy.

Aug 27 (LNGJ) - The 261,700 cubic metres capacity carrier “Al Ghuwairiya” is scheduled to unload a shipment on September 2 at the UK South Hook terminal at Milford Haven in Wales from the Ras Laffan plant in Qatar, according to port authorities. The delivery was headed for the UK as the National Balancing Point benchmark natural gas price was at the equivalent of $3.40 per million British thermal units, while one of the main continental European prices, the Dutch Title Transfer Facility (TTF), was higher at the equivalent of around $3.45 per MMBtu.

Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding, the owner of the largest Chinese shipyards, said it was planning to construct the world’s largest liquefied natural gas carrier with a capacity of 270,000 cubic metres.

Oct 10 (LNGJ) - The 266,000 cubic metres capacity Q-Max vessel “Al Bahiya” is scheduled to unload a cargo on October 13 at the UK Isle of Grain import terminal on the Medway River in Kent, 45 miles southeast of London, from the Ras Laffan plant in Qatar, according to shipping data. The shipment was being delivered as the UK National Balancing Point benchmark natural gas price was at the equivalent of $6.40 per million British thermal units, while one of the main continental European prices, the Dutch Title Transfer Facility (TTF), was lower at the equivalent of around $6.25 per MMBtu.

Sept 11 (LNGJ) - The 266,000 cubic metres capacity Q-Max carrier “Rasheeda” will deliver a shipment on September 18 to the UK Milford Haven import terminal in Wales from the Ras Laffan plant in Qatar, according to shipping data. The delivery was fixed as the UK National Balancing Point benchmark natural gas price was at the equivalent of $6.05 per million British thermal units, while one of the main continental European prices, the Dutch Title Transfer Facility (TTF), was lower at the equivalent of around $5.90 per MMBtu.

June 13 (LNGJ) - The 266,000 cubic metres capacity “Aamira” is scheduled to deliver a cargo from Qatargas on June 19 to the UK South Hook import terminal in Milford Haven, Wales, the port authorities said. The UK benchmark National Balancing Point natural gas price was last at the equivalent of $4.65 per million British thermal units.

May 9 (LNGJ) - The 266,000 cubic metres capacity Q-Max carrier “Shagra” will deliver a shipment on May 12 to the UK South Hook import terminal in Milford Haven, Wales, port authorities said. The UK benchmark National Balancing Point natural gas price was last at the equivalent of $4.25 per million British thermal units.

March 31 (LNGJ) - The 266,000 cubic metres capacity Q-Max carrier “Al Bahiya” will deliver a Qatari cargo on April 7 to the UK South Hook import terminal in Milford Haven, Wales, port authorities said. The UK National Balancing Point benchmark natural gas price was last at just over 29 pence per therm, or $4.15 per million British thermal units.

China National Oil Corporation's (CNOOC) will use Qatargas' first delivered LNG cargo to commission its new regasification terminal in Hainan province in the coming days.
