US investor Warren Buffett, whose Berkshire Hathaway group has a stake in the Cove Point LNG export plant in Maryland and a growing stake in US exploration and production company, Occidental Petroleum, revealed that he had stakes in Japan’s five main trading houses with their widespread energy assets and intended to buy more Japanese shares.
Warren Buffett, one of America’s most followed investors, has taken his stake in Occidental Petroleum to more than 19 percent, in a varied portfolio of energy shares and stakes acquired by the man known as the “Oracle of Omaha”.
The LNG supply company in the US state of Florida owned by Pivotal LNG and NorthStar Midstream, plans to increase the liquefaction capabilities to 360,000 gallons per day and double its storage capacity to 4 million gallons using the growing expertise of construction services companies in the US small-scale LNG sector.

Aug 22 (LNGJ) - Jax LNG, the port bunkering project in Jacksonville in Florida, has received a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) for the facility from the United States Coast Guard and approval to conduct ship-to-ship LNG fuel operations with the LNG barge “Clean Jacksonville”. The expectation is that ship-to-ship LNG bunkering will start in early 2018. Jax LNG already supplies fuel for the LNG-fueled container ships of US shipping line TOTE Maritime. The fuel is supplied by Pivotal LNG who along with Southern Company Gas operates a network of LNG production facilities with the capacity to produce over 554,000 gallons per day and the ability to store more than 96 million gallons.
Carib Energy, a subsidiary of US shipping line Crowley Maritime Corp., has been given approval to export LNG in containers on board cargo ships to any country in Central America, South America or the Caribbean and with the fuel supplied by small-scale plants in three states in the US southeast.
Construction is starting on a liquefied natural gas production and supply joint venture in the Port of Jacksonville in Florida with plans to load bunkering barges to deliver marine LNG up and down the East Coast of the United States.
