Imports of liquefied natural gas by India in April, the first month of the new fiscal year, as shipments arrived from diverse nations such as Australia, Nigeria, Trinidad and Qatar and as more cargoes were also set to be received from the US amid plans for an expansion of regasification and pipeline infrastructure on the East Coast.

Indian liquefied natural gas imports soared by almost 47 percent in January as more cargoes were received from West Africa and Australia in addition to regular shipments from one of the nation’s main supplying countries Qatar.
