US regulators have started the pre-filing environmental review process for the Pointe LNG liquefaction project proposed for the East Bank of the Mississippi River in Plaquemines Parish in Louisiana, which would be the second riverbank export facility planned for south of New Orleans.
Two US Gulf Coast energy veterans, former Duke Energy executive Jim Lindsay and former tanker captain Tom Burgess, have formed Pointe LNG and filed a request with regulators to build a liquefaction and export plant on the eastern bank of the Mississippi River in southern Louisiana.
