Lake Charles LNG, the liquefaction and project owned by US pipeline company Energy Transfer and involving Royal Dutch Shell, has asked regulators to extend the deadline for the start of construction to November 2019.

Energy Transfer Partners, the US pipeline company with LNG interests on the Gulf Coast, is delaying the phased start-up of its $4.3-billion Rover Pipeline for several weeks because of recent regulatory setbacks in the state of Ohio.

Lake Charles LNG terminal, the US facility in Louisiana that once brought in shipments from Trinidad and Equatorial Guinea to fill the US gas supply deficit, is now getting back on track with its proposal to transform into a liquefaction and export plant.
