The countdown has begun for the Gastech Exhibition and Conference, the largest LNG and natural gas industry gathering of 2017 and taking place from April 4-7 at Chiba, north of Tokyo.

Tokyo Gas, the third-largest Japanese LNG buyer, said it would start receiving shipments soon from the Gorgon LNG export plant in Western Australia and from the US from 2017 in what it said was the start of an era of “mega-competition” in Japan under new deregulation rules for utilities.
