Tokyo Gas, the third-largest Japanese LNG buyer, said it would start receiving shipments soon from the Gorgon LNG export plant in Western Australia and from the US from 2017 in what it said was the start of an era of “mega-competition” in Japan under new deregulation rules for utilities.
