June 7 (LNGJ) - Greek company chief executive Anastasios Papagiannopoulos, head of shipping line Common Progress in the dry bulk sector, has been elected President of the Baltic and International Maritime Council (BIMCO), the world’s largest shipping association with 2,100 members in more than 120 countries. Papagiannopoulos said he had set three aims for his two-year presidential term. The first is to promote digitalisation across the industry, the second is to reduce the administrative burden for ship masters and the third is to encourage the successful implementation of regulations on ballast water and the global caps on sulphur emissions by 2020.
