June 25 (LNGJ) - Royal Boskalis Westminster was awarded a dredging contract for the Angola LNG project in southwest Africa which is undergoing an upgrade to get it back on stream. Boskalis is working on maintaining the access channel and turning basins of the Soyo LNG port in the north of the country at the mouth of the Congo River. The project involves the removal of around 11 million cubic metres of sand and silt. The Chevron-operated Angola plant will re-start by December 2015 following completion of modifications and repairs. In April 2014, the plant experienced a failure in the flare blow-down piping system, resulting in an extended plant shutdown.
