May 14 (LNGJ) - Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK Line), the Japanese shipping compmany, signed charter contracts for two new LNG carriers with a unit of Mitsubishi Corp to deliver cargoes to Japan from the Cameron LNG plant in Louisiana in which Mitsubishi holds a stake. NYK said the new vessels will have a capacity of 165,000 cubic metres Delivery of the carriers is scheduled for 2018. Another Cameron LNG shareholder Mitsui of Japan signed one more similar charter deal in May for a 178,000 cubic metres capacity vessel to bring to eight the number of ships it will use to transport US LNG. Sempra Energy of California will operate the Camneron LNG plant and the first Train is scheduled for completion in 2017.
