Africa is emerging as a key source of liquefied natural gas for the United States as Nigeria continues to monetize its significant natural gas reserves, and a
small former Spanish colony prepares to become the worlds 14th LNG exporter
with contracts to deliver into Louisiana.
In mid-July the West African state of Equatorial Guinea will become the newest LNG exporting country after a project led by
Marathon Oil Corp. of the US comes
on stream.
