Africa is emerging as a key source of liquefied natural gas for the United States as Nigeria continues to monetize its significant natural gas reserves, and a small former Spanish colony prepares to become the world’s 14th LNG exporter with contracts to deliver into Louisiana.

Equatorial Guinea will become the newest LNG exporting country after a project led by Marathon Oil Corp. of the US comes on stream.
