Aug 31 (LNG) - Awilco LNG, the Norwegian owner of two 2013-built LNG carriers with 156,000 cubic metres of capacity, narrowed its net losses in the second-quarter to $10.1 million from $10.4M in the first three months of the year. Net freight income from its two ships, the “Wilforce” and the “WilPride”, amounted to $1M versus $800,000 in the previous quarter. “Mid-term and long-term demand for LNG transportation remains strong,” said Awilco. “We are at the start of the biggest increase of LNG volumes in history,” it added. “Awilco is fully financed to 2020 and is ideally positioned for taking advantage of an improving market,” the company stated.
