June 15 (LNGJ) - TransCanada Corp., the Canadian pipeline company, is moving forward with a new $2 billion expansion of its Nova Gas Transmission Ltd. system, based on new contracted customer demand for approximately 3 billion cubic feet per day, even in the absence of a major LNG export project. “Between now and 2021, TransCanada is investing in new pipeline infrastructure to connect Western Canadian natural gas production to key markets within the basin and across North America,” said Karl Johannson, TransCanada's executive Vice-President. This expansion programme comes from growing producer demand to connect with the low-cost Montney shale-gas play in British Columbia and other resources.
