China’s liquefied natural gas imports are forecast to increase by 21 percent to 32 million tonnes in 2017, with the Chinese aiming to increase the share of natural gas in the energy mix from 5 percent to 10 percent by 2020, with policy efforts directed at the electricity generation and transport sectors.
