Nov 9 (LNGJ) - The Indian Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Dharmendra Pradhan, has inaugurated the operations of the nation’s first LNG-fueled bus at Kochi in the southwest state of Kerala. Also present were executives of the companies participating in the LNG bus project, Petronet LNG, Indian Oil Corp. and Tata Motors Ltd. “The bus is part of the Ministry’s plan to use LNG buses for mass transportation and to reduce carbon emissions in the country,” a statement said. The LNG bus will operate at the Kochi LNG import terminal, owned by Petronet. The fuel tank was provided by Chart Industries of the US as part of the pilot project to use the bus on a trial basis.
