Aug 29 (LNGJ) - The inauguration ceremony of the Argentine natural gas field located offshore Tierra del Fuego and operated by France’s Total was postponed until a later date to allow the country’s President to attend when his programme is free. Total has already started production at the offshore Vega Pleyade field with a capacity of 10 million cubic metres of gas per day. The project is the world's southern-most gas development. The Vega Pleyade project consists of a wellhead platform in 50 metres of water, tied back via a 77-kilometre offshore pipeline to the Total-operated Rio Cullen and Canadon Alfa onshore treatment facilities.
