May 26 (LNGJ) - Cheniere Energy, operator of the Sabine Pass liquefied natural gas export plant in Louisiana, told US regulators its second project, the Corpus Christi LNG development in Texas, was now more than one-third complete and the first liquefaction Train was on track for start-up in 2018. In its latest progress report to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the Houston-based company said construction at Corpus Christi was 33.5 percent complete. The Texas liquefaction plant is being built on the shore of Corpus Christi Bay, at the north end of the La Quinta Channel. The contractors are led by Bechtel Inc. The Phase 1 EPC contract for Corpus Christi includes building two LNG Trains, each with 4.5 million tonnes per annum of capacity, two storage tanks, one complete berth and a second partial berth.
