May 17 (LNGJ) - TransCanada Corp., the builder of feed-gas pipelines in Canada for LNG projects, said the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States had notified the Canadian company that its proposed $13 billion takeover of Columbia Pipeline Group Inc. could go ahead after an investigation found no unresolved national security concerns. Closing is also subject to clearance by the US Federal Trade Commission on antitrust issues and the approval of Columbia's stockholders scheduled for June 22, 2016. “TransCanada and Columbia continue to anticipate completing the transaction in the second half of 2016,” the company said.
