May 11 (LNGJ) - Veresen Inc., the Canadian developer of the rejected Jordan Cove LNG project in the northwest US state of Oregon, said it received notice from the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission that it had issued an order granting further consideration to its request for a rehearing. “The order is granted by FERC for the limited purpose of noting that a rehearing has been timely requested and allowing itself more time than the 30-day statutory period to consider the merits of such requests,” Veresen said. Jordan Cove was rejected by US regulators for lack of market support, though has now signed LNG tolling capacity agreements with three Japanese companies, including its two biggest utilities.
