May 3 (LNGJ) - Statoil, the Norwegian energy major and owner of Europe’s only industrial-scale LNG production plant at Hammerfest in northern Norway, said it agreed to sell its operated Marcellus shale properties in the US state of West Virginia to US company EQT Corp. for $407 million in cash. “This divestment of non-core assets comprises approximately 62,500 net acres,” Statoil said. The company retains its operated properties in the US state of Ohio and its non-operated Marcellus positions.
