April 29 (LNGJ) - Exmar, the Belgian LNG fleet owner with various stakes in 15 carrier and floating storage and regasification units, posted a drop in first-quarter turnover to $25.5 million from $32.4M in the same three months last year. LNG operations contributed $13.3M to operating income compared with $8.9M in the same 2015 quarter. “All LNG carriers but “Excel” remain employed on long-term contracts at rewarding levels. Despite difficult market conditions, “Excel” continues to be employed on the spot market,” Exmar said. “Following the termination of the contract with Pacific Exploration and Production, Exmar is in discussions with several parties to deploy the FLNG barge on projects located mainly in the Middle East, South America and West Africa,” it added.
