April 25 (LNGJ) - Lloyds Energy recently signed a letter of intent with US engineering company KBR Inc. and Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering for a front-end engineering and design contract coupled with a procurement, construction, installation and commissioning agreement to develop near-shore floating liquid natural gas facilities. Lloyds Energy is a European company formed to develop LNG liquefaction and export projects utilising near-shore FLNG technology with feedstock gas supplied from existing pipeline infrastructure. “The ultimate objective is to establish a program of multiple near-shore FLNG projects, based on one single and original design,” the company said.
