LNG shipments head out from Gulf Coast as nation ponders shape of future market

The first export shipment of liquefied natural gas produced in the Lower 48 states left the Gulf Coast of Louisiana on February 24 and was the result of a decade of natural gas production growth that has put the United States in a new position in the worldwide energy trade.
